Meeting the Meinekes

Well, it's been two weeks since my last update, so I figured some of you would be anxious for some new photos.                                                                   Two weeks ago marked the beginning of Lent - Ash Wednesday.  Since I'm on maternity leave, I can actually go to the lenten services with Dan this year.  Normally he goes to the 10am service at St. John during the day with his class, and then I'll go to the evening service at 7pm on my own since he's already been there.  But this year we get to go together!  And Kara was in a good enough mood to allow the pastor to put ashes on her forehead.

I was trying to get a good picture of Kara with her ashes.  This
one reminds me of the dance that Kevin James does in the
movie Hitch...the "q-tip

2 weeks old today!

I was trying to put stuff away in Kara's room, but Dad decided
Kara needed a piggy back ride.

This is the outfit Kara wears when we go for walks.
I think it resembles Raphie's bunny outfit :)

Kara had her first bath at home.  This was not something she enjoyed.

I'm better now that I'm dry.

We went out to the Cadieux Cafe for dinner for my birthday.  It was our first outing with Kara.  We all had a good time, but next time we go we'll have to do some "feather bowling."

Great Grandma Unger with Kara

The whole crew

Dan being smug that he got Kara to sleep INSTANTLY after
she'd been crying forever with me

We made a trip this last weekend to go see Martha run at the NAIA Indoor Nationals.  Kara enjoyed her first track meet.  And we enjoyed seeing all the Meinekes :)

Miss All-American herself - Aunt Martha

And Uncle Zach holding a newborn for the first time!

Kara wanted a Cheese-It and her uncle was just taunting her

It's a PINK explosion!

4 weeks old today!!!
(I can't believe it.)
